i. love. these. two.

this session was at the church where rachel and phil met. he is a youth pastor and she helps mentor teenage girls- they met at a youth event just last year...and now they will be getting married at the same place they met! i LOVE their story. and they are funny. they were up for an adventure and just went with the flow. i am crazy for the story behind this shoot and i SO hope that you can "feel the love"

seriously...i love this.

the light makes me super happy.

the entire session, they giggled and "quoted" song of solomon- sort of...

it was hilarious- probably had to be there, but trust me, it was hilarious.

this is the very place they will get married- it was fun to hear them chat about the

big day and all their dreams.

they were soaking in the moment.

so sweet.

and here...they are praying over their future, asking God to bless their marriage, their families,

and more. it was one of THE most precious moments i have ever been a part of.

*sigh*

THIS is one of my faves!

you haven't had a successful shoot, until you have called security and recruited a friend

to help up climb up the hatch to the roof of a mega church.

i love this couple. they are darling. i met danielle last year at her sister, Madi's, senior session. i loved her then, and she hinted that there just might be a need for engagement pictures soon! well, since then she and justin have graduated from TEXAS A&M (WHOOOOOOP!) and he finally asked! yay!they have known each other since the 4th grade and have such a sweet story. i am thrilled to have done their pictures and can't wait to see them again! congratulations danielle and justin! well, here he is... can you stand the preciousness? (remember when he was on his way? go look again HERE) my sweet friend birthed this baby, with no drugs, at her home....she's a rockstar. i totally think that she deserves a medal, anyway.... this is paxton. he is yummy and sweet and darling and delicious and...well, you get the point. it would be a crime for this family to not AT least have two or three more babies, they are just that fantastic. don't you agree?

the sheddens

this shoot was precious for several reasons.

first of all, because this is "my persons" little sister...and i love her.

(even though she aggravated the fool out of us when we were kids)

her hubs is darling as can be and they are super funny together.

the second reason....they are in the process of adopting a precious love of a baby.

we don't know what baby....but GOD does.

these pictures will be in the books shown to the birth mom, while she is making

the selfless choice, of who will love and care for her child.

this was kinda, their maternity shoot for lack of better words.

i was thrilled when this guy invited me to come take his picture for his NEW book! he and his precious wife, liz, were my youth interns when i was in the 7th grade, while he was attending seminary. they were so fun and taught me SO much about the sweet God that we serve. i would have never guessed that all these years later, they would STILL be a part of my life. his daughters are some kinda precious, and the oldest is mascot with my big guy this year at the high school! (isn't God crazy cool like that?!?!) :)

the jones family

this precious family is in the process of adopting a new little girl from china.

lilli, will be home to join her forever family in the spring

and they are anxiously awaiting her arrival.

we couldn't do a family session with out including this sweet girl...

this is what we came up with.

there are a million things i love about this picture.

i think that i like this so much, because this is what 80% of our

family pictures look like. the sister running away.

this guy was trying to let me know that he didn't want any more pictures.

so cute.

so then, he decided to have a battle with his gun instead.

the thought of all the playing and squealing and giggling

colon cancer stinks!

i was invited to come and shoot at the "undy 5000"---

a walk that raises money for colon cancer.

this "team" was walking in memory of their

wife, mom, grandmother, and friend, tina.

i never really understood the deep meaning of a "walk"

until we participated in the "march of dimes",

in honorof our girl that we almost lost.

these walks are super emotional, the walkers usually

have so so much invested in "the cause" and are very

passionate about who they are honoring...

this was no different.

as i watched all of these people,

walk and finish this race, i was so moved.

the stories that each team represents are

so inspirational and the people who

have fought or are fighting this terrible disease

are so courageous.

i hope that this serves as a sweet reminder to this family

of tina, and that they treasure

these memories for a long long time.

the sun rises on the undy 5000.

the team. i so hope that this is how my family would dress

if they were honoring me.

the niemeyer's

i get to spend every labor day weekend with michelle at our annual scrap book getaways.

she is so fun and i had never met her family...until now. they are precious. i love the relationship

of this big brother (austin) and little one (asher). reminds me of my boys. so they kinda had a soft

spot in my heart. there are lots of favorites, but i had to pick a just a few....aren't they so cute?

friendship. it's one of my favorite gifts God has given us. they are an extension of Him- this i know is a fact. when i watch the friendships of others, i am pleasantly reminded of my circle of friends and am thankful. after this shoot, i drove home smiley...thinking of my peeps.

darla is getting married and wants her friends-her longest and dearest of friends- to be honored through pictures at her wedding. i love this idea. so we did just that. don't they look fun...and ornery? they are. and a JOY to watch interact with each other. thank you ladies for sharing your friendship with me. i loved it.

this is madi. she's super fun. really, she is. this shoot had us all over town, up and down fire escapes, eating cupcakes, climbing walls, dancing in the streets, i could go on...we had lots of people looking at us like we were crazy. the best part? she was up for anything! which made this one of the most fun shoots ever. her mom and sister came along and kept us giggling and laughing. the result? an awesome senior shoot. had the hardest time picking my faves for the blog, so here are just a few that i love (trust me, there are many many more!) thanks for a great time madi!!!!!!

this is a precious family....if it weren't for them, i wouldn't be married to my husband.

they totally set us up...and here we are, nearly 4 years later.

levi and heather are hilariously funny. neelie is a sweet lovely girl, with great fashion sense.

and little will- well, he is a darling mess. he makes me laugh real hard.

they are like family to us and we love them.

the schusters

this is the cutie pie schuster family. this was my second time with them (go here to see last years shoot), and that baby's big brown eyes are bigger and browner and more beautiful than last year! and that precious head of brown curly hair kinda made my heart hurt...precious. this year addisynn is two, very chatty, and full of energy and life. (mom and dad think she is pretty great too!) we had so much fun-even though it was about 180 degrees...nothing a sno cone couldn't fix. can't wait to have this sweet little punkin' at the halloween shoot next month!

it was SO windy! she kept getting all tangled up in the balloons- hilarious.

i love this...see elmo, cookie monster, and big bird hanging out with mom? so cute.

seriously? those eyes. her daddy is gonna have to load up that gun someday.

this family LOVES to read together... a fairy princess book, of course.

time to let them go....maybe another fairy princess will find them.

the SWEET SWEET wages!

a cupcake. what is better than a cupcake? truly, there just aren't many things that are better than a cupcake. they are made with so much love and attention to detail. they are wrapped in pretty packages and tied with lovely ribbon. they are cause for joy, celebration, happiness, and laughter. they are created to reflect happiness in peoples lives and to give them a wee bit of joy when they are feeling sad. the cup cake perfectly demonstrates the greatness of this beee-yoooou-teeeee-fulllll little family. they are human cupcakes. trust me....they are.

our friends, kaitlyn, seth, presleigh, and sweet pierce are a pure delight! and when she asked me about doing a "trash the dress" session, i squealed like a little child, composed myself, and then got busy trying to make it happen.

before you see the pics, you need to know that kaitlyn is a cook. i mean like for. real. LOVES it. she loves fashion. and the things she loves even more than that, are her husband, kids, and our Savior. so that said.....the pictures were about her and what she loves.

this is the hardest time i have ever had "picking" images for a blog....for they were all fun and precious. so grab a coke from sonic and a bag of cookies- sit back- and watch all of the goodness that your about to witness.............here we go!!!!!!!!!!!!!

phil + darla= LURVE

there is no question how much i LOVE to shoot in the stockyards.

i just simply love it for so many many reasons.

today reason #47, phil & darla.

they just got engaged and are planning a december wedding.

so precious and in love. laid back and did whatever i told them

(which included standing in 106 degree heat, and prettttttty please looking past

the cow poop, the used drug needles, and dirty old underwear-gross)!

where was i? oh yeah, phil and darla.

they are in love and happy and gushie and all that mess and so FUN!

had to really slim down my faves (cause i loved them all).

this is kate. she just turned one and is a precious love of a girl. i had a hard time picking my favorites, so there are several more than usual. who doesn't love a baby girl in a tutu? no one, i tell you! enjoy sweet little kater-tot!

this is my gypsy heart....

....well, part of it at least. (explanation here) i needed some pictures of my kids- i am THE WORST about taking photos of my own family. i know, i know....don't preach at me- i already have terrible mommy guilt. anyway...i also needed some art for our house that had these colors. two birds, one stone. yay me!

my sweet husband and father in law, helped me tote our red chair (rescued from the neighbor's trash) and all the kids in 180 degree texas heat. we sweated (yes, that's a word) our biscuits off, but it was totally worth the effort. (and i think i lost a few pounds too- bonus!)

having kids SO far apart and then all of sudden two close together has really been a challenge for this mom- to say the least. but, there are great joys that out weigh the rough moments. i am so overly, undeservedly blessed, beyond words. my heart is definitely bubbling over. here are my peeps.....

THE ROCK ANGELS

so, when you are 9 months pregnant and feel like a float in the

Macy's Thanksgiving Parade- walking around photographing 8 beautiful

girls with rockin' bodies, doesn't help the self image.

that is what i go to do last week.

these are 95.9, The Ranch's,ROCK ANGELS.

they are all super precious and look amazing.

so when you hear of them being at an event for the station,

you should run over and meet them in person.

for now, you will have to settle for just lookin' at 'em....which isn't that hard to do.

4 generations

these are the women of the schmidt family.

karen, is a childhood friend

that i simply adore.

her mom has written a book about

the relationship between her oldest and youngest sisters.

my oh so talented friend has illustrated the book and used her darling

little daughter for inspiration.

this was a session to find a photo for the inside cover,

but also to celebrate the sweet bond of these women.

when the book is on the shelves and they are super famous,

i can say "i knew them back in the day" :)

The Laffoons

really, there is not a lot to say about this family, except that they were REALLY GREAT!!! it was a last minute photo shoot, and sometimes those feel a little rushed, but no this time. they had some great ideas of their own and at the same time, were totally open to my direction. and those boys....oh my. how absolutely darling are they and let me tell you, they were some of the best well mannered boys that i have ever been around. made me so happy that they found me and that we could make our schedules work out! i am really anxious to get them in front of the camera again!

Sisters

what a great gift for mom! these sisters wanted a "grown up" sibling picture to give their mom. sometimes, we forget that even after we are married and have families of our own, that our parents still think of us as their babies. what a precious way to honor them and the sweet bond that siblings have as adults. i love these sisters so so much. they are hilarious and make me laugh really hard. every time that i leave from spending anytime at all with them, i am a little jealous that i don't have sisters too. luckily, they let me be a part every now and then. :)

....by the way, their mom LOVED this!

this shoot was a LONG time coming! it had 2 rain delays, but FINALLY i got to meet up with a sweet friend from high school and her very full of personality little Tucker! the Schuster's

celebrating the first birthday of the sweet little adisson those big 'ole brown eyes and curly brown hair made me want to kiss her! her momma and daddy are crazy nuts about her and i think that they just might like each other too ;) ! i have a few new all time faves in this session- starting with the first one!
